Saturday, March 22, 2008 advantages of being stupid ♥ 9:13 PM
Today I stayed home and waited a good deal, accompanied by beeping sounds and funny mailbox tones. I don't know how long I sat waiting but I just sat and kept myself busy counting the endless beeps. It was like counting sheep awake, I knew I should stop and be satisfied after a few series of beeps but I kept counting all the same. It kept beeping and I kept waiting. I felt like I was in denial then, but now I feel like the wait and the count was necessary. I solved the equation, rejected the non-admissible answer and yes, I scored a mark.
I have to keep up with time.
Today I met Sid to "study". We headed to our secret Starbucks that isn't quite a secret but it's funny how we always can study there despite the fact that it's actually a busy place and it's s close to CBD. After our five-hour stay, we finally left Starbucks (oh, the drinks today weren't really nice, but that's okay because the manager is extremely nice to us) and whilst walking around, I realised that my phone wasn't with me. Naturally, I started babbling like an aunty and we went back to Starbucks and asked everyone if they have seen my phone and we even went to the manager and created a fuss. But they were kind and said they'd give me a call if they found my phone. We then went searching the entire mall and retraced our every step. Then it suddenly dawned on me that perhaps it's still at Starbucks because we certainly didn't stop at any shop to browse. So we walked back to Starbucks and started bending and searching under the couch and THERE IT WAS, UNDER THE COUCH I SAT. I guess being stupid and clumsy does help, because had I not been so clumsy to drop my phone somewhere unseen, I'd probably never find my phone because someone dishonest may have picked it up and decide he could do with some extra cash, however little the amount may be.
