Straitskitchen was awesome, although I would very much have liked to go Carousel instead but Miss Nad says that Straits would be more suitable for the "older generation". Anyway, all went well, and I am glad my mum and aunt had a great time because I had a great time! :)
Anyway I tried everything there, the Indian, Chinese and Malay cuisines. My favorite was the fish-thingy-fried-in-batter-with-beansprouts! The Buddha Jump Over The Wall soup was good too, fragrant, rich and ah, good! The popiah was great too, although I forgot to request for extra spicy! The best thing that I had plenty of would be the Mango Pudding. It's damn smooth and the mango bits were fresh, ahhh, so good! Oh the tandoori prawns/chicken, ah food excites me! Oh oh durian icecreaaaaam! But not as good as the Mango Sorbet! Hmm variety wise, not so much. And ps, the laksa's not good! But they had mangosteens, I looove mangosteens, they're such a rare find in SG.
If only all that food could make me feel good. :( I know this is a little sadistic and cruel but I miss eating turtle eggs. Once upon a time, quite long ago, you could find them at the streets of Geylang by foreign hawkers. But now, gosh, nobody considers them edible anymore! HMMMM. I'm off to bed now, the medicine's effect is kicking in.
